Cracks around my front shock mounting brackets

Yesterday I installed Timbrens on the front of my 90 F250 4x4. When I removed the r/f upper shock bracket I found the bracket to be cracked and bent outward around the mounting holes and also 3-4 cracks around the upper mounting bolt hole the chassis also looks like it was bulging out around the holes. I ground everthing down and banged it as far back into place as I could, then grooved out all the cracks with a wizz wheel and mig welded them, then ground everything flush. Has anyone else here had this problem? The truck has a Fisher 8' hd plow on it.
