convert stock light bulb to HID?

    Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone on here converted the stock bulbs off the Western lights to HID's??

    i wanted to.....but you have no metal retractor to cover the bulb so it will be blinding..you need the metal cone over the bulb..like a trucks heads..

    thats why they paint the end of the bulb black...

    I looked into it, quite costly and not as easy as swiching bulbs.

    High Intensity Discharge lights are complicated to run because they convert a weak power source (vehicle electrical system) to a high power one. Kind of like an amplifier for a stereo. It can be done but not easily and not cheaply! Good luck!

    Never got around to it,but Sylvania Silverstar makes a light. can't remember if they are HID or not.
