Clamping reverse diode on collapsing magnetic fields

    I am thinking of adding this TVS P/N 5KP16ALF
    across the motor and the coil of the solenoid. Typical clamping is at 17.8V


    I guess the GM upfitter manual recommends GM P/N 12112422
    Does anybody know the specs on the GM part or have any recommendations about the Transient voltage suppression diode I referenced using above.

    Any 3 AMP, 400 PIV (1N5404) diode works well. If you just need a small quantity try your local Radio Shack under p/n 276-1144. Thumbs Up
