I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500. Last night while plowing I noticed a chirping noise at low RPM's in 4WD. When I put it back in 2WD it goes away Any suggestions on what to check for? Bearing? U-joint?

Sounds like the front drive shaft.

That's what I was thinking. Can I rebuild that double U-joint myself?

front shaft is a pain to rebuild, its generally easier and cheaper to just buy a new shaft.. There about $200

Sound like the U joints put in some heavey duty greasably one ! Just had my truck done it was making the same noise brought it in for ball joints and was told that its U-joints were so bad if I'd put it in 4x4 thay would have taken out the axel and would have had big issues! They wern't cheap but all clear now get the lifetime warrenty with it!
