    how does chevys independent front end hold up to plowing.........truck in mention is a 1 ton, diesal, 4x4,2003,6 speed standard

    well ive been plowing with a 1994 chevy 1 ton for 10 years and its still running strong

    Plowing with a stick is a PITA IMO

    IFS dont like big tires(35" plus) or other hard core wheeling but I think it is fine for most anything else. It has an overly bad rap in trems of strenght though. Not as strong as a dana 60 true but its not as weak as some people make out. JMO

    It will do OK with a plow on it.They aren'tas strong as a solid front axle,but they get the job done.The wheel bearings\hub units seem to be weaker on the newer trucks,as we have seen quite a few failures lately.
