My dad has a 2010 1500 Silverado 4x4 5.3l v8. It is his daily driver, tow vehicle, and light plow truck. The truck has not plowed much since we got it, not much snow last couple years. Now the hub bearings are starting to growl. So I'm thinking about a few things that may help increase bearing service interval. Are there heavy duty (stronger than stock) bearings available for this truck?

My other thought is, What would it take to put 2500 bearing on this truck? Are the steering knuckles interchangeable? Would the control arms have to be changed? Will 2500 control arms fit the 1500 frame?

Is anyone making parts to make these hubs rebuildable?

Timken bearings I've heard good things about.
