Chevy 3500HD push plates?

Discussion in 'Fisher Engineering Discussion' started by stevejfromRI, Nov 4, 2011.

  1. Just purchased a 01 Chevy 3500HD 2wd Duallie dump, I was told no push plates were available for this model??

Any info out there as to why?

Does it have the "classic" body style similiar to the 1998 style? In "01" they were still making some or these, they must have had frames left over.

  3. its the older square nose (classic).. also Leaf springs up front.

The C3500 uses Fisher kit #7148
The C3500 HD uses Fisher Kit #7144
The run on these trucks went into 2001 but most listings on parts show production stopped in 2000.

They stopped making the classic in 2000.Fisher makes a pushplates for it #7169 or #7161. These fit the 2001-2010. 2011 is pushplate #7192

GM made the "classic" body style in 2001 on the C3500 HD in 2WD as you can see from his post stevejfromri has one, he needs Fisher part # 7144. Fisher's literature probably states the part is up to model year 2000 but it's 2001, I set one of these up last year. Has the 2B light harness also as I recall.

I just bought a mm1 8.5 that came of a 2001 check 3500 dump with the straight axel front end that won't work on my gmc 2500hd. I needed the 7161 so I bet this would fit yours. Mount is in good shape but the bolts had to be cut off of it. If you want them let me know I'll sell them cheap to cover my cost for my new plates. PM and let me know if your interested.

Vogel if you have a 2500HD you need the 7169 pushplate that's what my 2006 2500HD has on it

There are 2 different part numbers and from what the dealer and I can tell mine takes the 7161. I have a 2001 GMC Sierra 2500HD Crew Cab 4x4 6.6 duramax. I believe there are 2 different models in 2001.

yes there are two different numbers for push plates but maybe because you have a duramax that it takes a 7161 push plate

The 7161 push plates fit up to 02 models and they were then replaced with the 7169 due to the fact that the 03 up models had the front bumpers protrude a couple inches more out from the truck which caused the head gear to possibly come in contact with the bumper, so the 7169 puts the whole plow assembly out forward a little further than the 7161 so from 2000 to 2002 the 7161 or the 7169 will work 03 to 10 should have 7169.
Vogeltool check your headlight harnesses that came off the 2wd 3500 as those trucks were made with the square 2B headlights and most likely aren't compatible with your truck either.

  13. Thank you to everyone that replied. I have had several phone conversations on this as well.

It ended up being the 7144 plates, I love being a challenge. (at least thats what my wife says)

Yep your right I have the dual headlights on my truck and the MM1 has the single lights os I need an adapter kit. Dealer says it is $270. What is the best route at getting this done. Should I just buy a new light kit or what? It has the 4 port module on it. Trying to find the part number for the harness. Could I just buy a new light harness instead of the adapter kit? My other question would be if I decide to update the plow in a couple years is there a better kit to put on it so I don;t have to upgrade then again.

    Thanks for the info.

Don't worry about the single lights on the plow, get the part numbers off of the Fisher headlamp harnesses that you bought used there should be two of them that are very similar, one is shorter than the other, get back with both harnesses part numbers before you go any further so we know what we're dealing with. While your at it get the isolation module part #'s and/or color of the label (white, yellow or green).
