Can someone tell me the proper way to check the tranny fluid in a 6.0 gas. It seems everytime I check it I get a different reading with the 2500HD and the 3500.
    Thanks

Check your owner's manual, but it should be in Park and running/warm.

I didn't even think of the manual, thanks John.
I will try again tomorrow,, I followed the manual step by step and it either reads good or 1/2 quart low.

when you say either good or low. Do you check when it's cold, and it's low then go drive around warm it up and it's ok after that??

    Bowtie,
I ran it about 6 miles and checked it, it was 1/2 quart low. Then I waited a few hours ran it again, checked it, it was good. It was parked level both times. The only thing I am figuring is it wasn't warm enough the first time. I will check it again today and let you know
