    More specifically, stores like:
    Home Depot
    Lowe's
    Sears
    A&P

Where is the cheapest? Safest for asphalt.

I want to reduce damage to driveway. I know regular rock salt is the worst. It has a higher freezing temperature, so it basically melts during the days and creates ice at night that can crack driveway.

Anything can crack your driveway.....A Car....A Fat Mother in Law....A Meterorit......

Freeze Thaw is a fact of winter......

As long as the driveway was Mixed, Poured and finished properly salt will do no more or less damage than any other ice melt out there.....
