changing from conv. oil to synthetic in tranny

    have 05 2500hd with 6.0. want to change from reg. oil to synthetic in trans. so it runs cooler for when i tow. the question i have is how do you get the fluid out of the converter or can you mix it? thanks

    It's best to do a complete drain so you have almost a complete changeout.I think there's a post here but there's a more detailed one on the procedure on how to do this under ''HOOT METHOD'' at the Diesel Place.I'm quite sure it's a sticky.

    anybody know the capacity of the transmission ? I did a flush the other day but only used about 10 quarts, which I don't think was enough
