chains on 2 ton salter truck??

    how well will my ford f 800(short WB) with 5-6 yard v box get around on the ice with new tires? i'm running a f 350 2X4 with 3 yard box and get along fine without chains. how will the two compair? thanks....

    Well, let's see. I bought my F800 in summer of '97. First 'big' truck and first plow\salt truck without 4WD since my dad had a '79 Ford 350 POS. So we bought chains for those ice storms and big snows when we would need them at the same time. I can't even tell you for sure where they are right now, and I think I still have them, brand new, never been used.
