hey guys i broke a central hydro (engine driven) vee belt

i noticed the pully on both the motor and the pump, are twin groved vee pullys , and are both the same size

i only had 1 belt on there, but i bought this truck used not too long ago. I do think the belt slips if the pump is under heavy load , i could bearly dump 3 tons

Is there suppost to be 2 belts? 1 belt? or 1 double grove vee belt?

and do you know how tight it should be ?

depends how many pulley groves you have that can be used .if you have room for two belts use two . usually about 1/2 inch of deflection in the belts . :salute:

I agree, if it's made for two then use two.

You can put 2 on, most of the belts on our grain elevator use 2 belts so they won't slip.

I agree. If it has room for 2 I would run 2. And most belts are suppose to have 1/2 in of flex on them.:dizzy:
