Check out the mouthfull of snow this 14M takes on a logging road that hasn't been plowed all season. It's running a Craig One Way Plow and Wing Assembly and Michelin XSNOPLUS tires with NO CHAINS!

..... It could be operator related though, I met the guy running this thing and he's been plowing company logging roads for over 40 years. He's the definition of good.

cool vid !, that snow looks nice and powdery..that has alot to with how easy its pushing it

i've been running the grader in my avatar for close to 20 years and i have yet to chain it up, you'd be amazed at the power they have

I agree, in that video it really does look powdery.. the thing is it wasn't powdery at all, it had 2 months of crusty layers making 17" of snow. I had to walk on top of it to get out to where I was videoing. It was strong enough to hold me up (most of the time)

    Check these out...

The grader was being pushed a little left, but OMG that's a wide scoop for so much snow!. No convoy needed.

They pulled out the grader this weekend here in cleveland on the west side. It was pretty sweet watching that thing rumble down the road with that plow on the front.

Great video! I would love to try out an "M' series Cat grader. Most of our plow equipment is Craig. I've heard that Irving has a 140 M over Doaktown way.

Yup.. the 14's are bigger though.. the 140's are a 183hp machine and the 14's are 259hp. They're both all joystick control, no steering wheel. I'm pretty sure that there are at least a few of each running through the woods this year.

.... What machine are you running Grader4Me? Is that a Deere in your avatar?....I've got to get my eyes checked..

Yeah, a few of the guy's in another forum that I belong to have new "M" graders. They have been providing good feedback on the controls/power/etc. The no steering wheel is about the hardest thing to get used to, but they have adjusted to it.

The grader in my avatar is a Volvo. DOT had it in the Christmas parade in Miramichi. I've operated a grader for over 25 years. Everything from Gallions, Wabcos, Hubers, John Deeres, Champions, Cats. The last grader that I ran was a 1996 Champion 120 VHP

Now I'm a trainer for the Department (semi retired) xysport

VeePlow I really liked the vid but I think you should've made it about an hour long:D, so where abouts is the 14M working out of. This is the first time i've seen the new M series.

There was 14H where I work with a ms ripper, the grader was fairly new but was sold back in the fall, she sure looked nice.
