I have an '87 3/4 ton 4x4 with a 350 TBI and the block is out of a '96 350 truck. I am thinking of putting a 400 crank in it to give it a little more power. My question is do they make a 400 crank that fits an '87 or '96 block. And what else would need to be changed in the motor (connecting rods?)to accept the larger crank. Also, is having the newer block a bad thing in terms of durability and power? I do not need a forged crank for my daily driving and weekend mud runs and yearly truck pulls.
