cant get hub apart

    89 3/4 ton suburban, manuel lock hub,took off cap and snap ring, some parts came out of hub but not enough. cant see big bolt. need to change bearings, but i cant get down to the spindle

    Most manual locking hubs have a snap-ring on the end of the axleshaft, and a thin wire ring at the outside edge of the hub body. Many times, you cant see it because of grease, etc. You can usually use a pick-type tool to find the ends of the ring and get it out.
    Once you do, pull out the locking hub body and you should be able to get to the spindle nuts.
