A western that is. Here is the deal......I am a newbie, and I am looking to plow a Dominican Monastery here near by where I live (as charity work). It has an 1/8 to 1/4 mile entrance road and about 50,000 to 60,000 sq ft of surrounding pavement and parking. I have a 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 HD Crew Cab, Long Bed, 5.7 Hemi, and a factory installed plow package. I had my eye on a Western Pro Ploy but the local distributor I have spoken with says 3 - 4 weeks out at best. They can't get anything else either such as a Pro Plus any quicker. So here I am with money to burn and cannot find what I wanted any time soon.

So, that leaves options and which is why I am posting. The only reason I wanted a western is because that's pretty much all that is around here. Was thinking ease of warranty issues and parts availability etc. There are some meyer's and bosses running around but mostly western.

If you had 5k or so to spend on a new plow and western wasn't an option if you want quick what else is out there? Is the boss and meyers worth investigating or others?

jump in the truck and drive north. Plenty of plows in stock on Long Island. I 'm sure you can search dealers on Western's site and find closest one with a plow in stock. they can install in about 3-4hrs. I have a pro plow. Bought at Trius inc. They also have a location in south Jersey.

call around and you will find what you want, i would not settle on the plow, i would not go to a different brand just becasue you couldnt get what you want, when you wanted , where you wanted it.

if there are lots of westerns in your area, and you like their product, and they normally have good support at the local dealer. then dont be affraid to do some driving to get what you want
