    Hey Guys,

I work for an Asphalt and snow removal company in Pittsburgh and this is our first year using the liquid deicer brine. Is it possible to spray the brine from our seal coating trucks? Are there any harmfull effects in storing it in trucks such as that? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Your not the company that spilled driveway sealer all over the Turn Pike are you? J/K
Would you be putting the brine in the same tank that the sealer was in?

Oh yeah, I guess so, sorry :D I would think the tanks would have to be cleaned out completely or you would have a mess. I'm sure the brine would break down the sealer and you would be laying down a mix of it. I don't know how much pressure a seal tank sprays out or if it even has baffles of some type but I'm sure the sealer doesn't slosh around like brine would. Can you take off that tank and replace it with a 1,000 gallon or equivalent size to whats on there?

    Thanks

Thanks for replying to our questions regarding using our seal trucks for spraying brine. All our trucks do have baffle plates and air pressure regulators. Are asphalt sealing specialist, assures us that brine will not break down sealer as brine is put on sealed parking lots all the time. Are there any other concerns that you can of regarding this? Thank you in advance. ASAP.

How many gallons per 1,000 sq ft does your truck apply? Maybe the nozzle size might need to be adjusted? Brine is thinner I would think than sealcoat.
