Hopefully we are done plowing now but lately I notice that my Fisher minute mount works very slowly.

I checked all the obvious stuff and discovered that the wiring just as it enters the plug is loose?

Anyway I used a bungi cord to keep the wire straight and that got me through.

Now I need to fix it before next time.

How big a deal is it to replace plugs?

    Thanks for any help,

Not a big deal at all if you are the least bit handy.
    Buy new plug
    Read directions
    Cut out old wires
install new and your good to go

Learn to solder and tape too. Most Haynes repair manuals have sections on it. It's not hard but you need instructions some times.
