    Hello all,

What is a good middle of the road straight pellet calcium chloride rate for deicing? The bags I have say by the cup. I've done some searching but couldn't come up with a good starting number. Thanks in advance!

Thank you for your reply. I was referring to the application rate. Such as 10 lbs per 1000 sq ft.

Well as far as what the application rate is I can't answer. But from experience I can say. Every salting is a little different. Calcium does not like snow. The pellets are small and it'll take a lot of them to melt snow. Now ice and hard pack, c.c. is great, better than salt. Cold, like bitter, c.c. all the way. Just my .02 when it comes to c.c.
