I threw this back drag together the other day. I know the pictures are not the best...I used a old cutting edge and 1.5" square tube for the 4 mounting locations to the plow...painted it with black enamel and bolted it on with grade 8 bolts and hardware. I cut some area's of the old blade and got the overall weight down 30 lbs. I used the square tube so no snow will build up on the back drag and the 4 sides to weld them to the old blade for a extra strong joint. overall I was able to keep the weight down and make it very sturdy....no extra welds or extra pieces to break ussmileyflag

Have you tried this out yet? Most of the back drags I've seen are not fixed,I think your going to have a problem when you go to plow forward.

Can't really tell if its bolted on or swings freely.

It must swing freely, but it also looks like it would swing up into the springs when going forward. I thought it would be notched a little where the blade meets the trip springs?

That's how my buddy is,when plowing forward it leans back and when back dragging it locks to drag.
