Brime on Roads

    Around here state highway is using brime on roads anywhere from one to two days ahead of a storm, ok I understand the theory behind brime. So the question is if you put it down why do you start spreading salt on top of it at the first snow flake. Whats the reasons.

    BRINE helps to keep the snow/ice from bonding with the road, then by salting when the snow starts the salt burns it up before it gets a chance to do anything.... or something along those lines
