A guy I know had a brand new Pro Plus plow installed on his truck (GMC 4500). He's had it since the begining of this season, and brought it in to the shop the other day. The round pipe mount tube that runs across was broke right off the board. All that was holding it to begin with was a triangular flat piece of steel that is welded all the way across on the board side. No support for the lateral movement in any way. The installer/rep came out and looked at it, and said that he would replace the whole mount piece with a new one. We suggested that they need a piece of steel that is cut to go AROUND that pipe as well (cut concave). He said they (Western) never had any problems with it before. Well, they delivered the new piece a few days ago, and guess what? It was welded with a closed in piece of steel EXACTLY like how we thought of and mentioned it should be done with. Now, if Western never had any troubles with this before, it sure seems funny that they would just "change it". Has anyone else had any experience with this?

At least they updated it. I find with regional reps. He might not of seen it before in his region but some of the other regional reps must of seen it for Western to make the modification. Gives the plow plus owners something to look at before warrenty is up..
