Trying to losen and adjust the newer style lights ( not the 09 style) and the bolt just spins in the light. Anyone have any ideas on how to stop it from spinning to loosen the light? I was thinking about using a welder but there is plastic from the bottom of the light right there.

Grab the threads with vice-grips. You only need the nut to come down 1 turn to adjust the lights so boogering up the threads is no big deal. If you ever do need to actually remove it, do so with a grinder or hacksaw.

I use an oxy/acetalyne torch to blow the nut off, remove the light, hammer the sheet metal slot back into shape, clean the bolt threads with a die, slather on some anti-seize, and reassemble with a new nut.
