Good afternoon gentleman. I picked up a back up plow Blizzard 8500 straight blade. its about 5 years old. the light bar stays on plow (new style) plow operates fine but power hitch does not work. its completely different than my old 8-10s that had power switch on cab controller then single toggle on motor to raise lower power hitch. this one has the two toggle switches on plow and no options on controller. is there some kinda sensor if plow feet are not down or pin not pulled? any advice or trouble shooting would be great. thanks in advance.

Some of the requirements for PH2 plows to operated at the switch are:
Both plow plugs are plugged into the truck.
Controller is plugged in and the power (red light) is OFF!
Lighting harness and iso module has been installed and hooked up in truck. Lights should switch to plow lights only when plugged in if it is hooked up correctly.
"Front" switch is switched off of plowing position and held in the momentary "arm" position while the "rear" up/down switch is held for up or down.

There are 2 switches just below the driver side of the headlight bracket, the forward switch has a off-on-momantary.
The rear switch is a momantary on-off-on
You will need to hold the forward switch towards the truck and with your other hand operate the rear switch. That will move the draw latch(up down cylinder)

If you're still having problems the switches would be the likely culprits. If you take the switches out of the tower, you will likely wreck them as they get fragile as they corrode. So do not mess with them until you are ready to deal with this problem head on and have replacement switches in your hand or you are prepared to bypass them.

thanks for the suggestions. I did change both switches and if I shut the on-off-on OFF the plow controls do stop. just for some reason draw latch function will not operate when following correct steps.

The easy stuff is done. Now it is time to start tracing wires. Electrical diagrams you need are attached. Remember, in PH2 most functions are ground activated.
