I am looking in to get a cab protector for my 2010 gmc 1500 I have a weatherguard box. ordered now I just want some input on what people like and dislike about the two. I also like to know how the toolbox mount to the back rack with the toolbox brackets does it still mount to the bed side or the back rack brackets. O yes I am putting my plow lights on it.

I run with a diesel tank, back rack, fertilizer and nitrous oxide. I wear my seat belt but I'm not so sure that is wise considering the cargo behind me. With the proper placards it is all legal. For my own safety (as the soul driver) I would like to remove the windsheild.

Apparently that is against DOT/MTO statutes.

Sorry I can't help any more..

I have a backrack with a sears box on it. its about 5 years old and about ready to come down and get repainted.

The tool box mount is a C channel, I mounted the box to it with a few sheet metal screws.

Not a fan of the back rack with a toolbox, because it raises the toolbox up a couple inches, making it harder to reach/see inside. Not sure how the weatherguard racks incorporate the toolbox... I really like the design of the protech racks though! Thumbs Up

Weatherguard racks allow the box to sit flush on the bedrails and not up 2"
