I have an older fenner pump used for my back blade. When I hit the control for up and down, the motor solenoid makes a clicking noise. Does this mean that motor solenoid is bad or is it the motor? How do you check?

Set of jumper cables, bypass the solenoid. If something happens when you touch positive to the pump or the "dead" side of the solenoid, you have your answer.
