    The only thing I know about Northman is not good. 10 years ago we had them here in Toronto and they didn't last long. Not one of the guys kept them more then 2 years. I don't think that salter will spread anything but bag material(salt or magic salt) and there is no way that it will spread sand. You have to have some kind of conveyer to spread sand/salt. The gas engine seems to be a better idea(then the electric motor).
