Can I use a double stud type motor as a replacement for a single stud motor without changing the end motor cover on the pump? Thanks.

When changing from a sigle stud motor to a double stud motor you will need to ground both the motor stud and the pump base. When I convert from single to double stud motors, I run the heavy ground wire to the motor stud. Then then a 2nd wire from the motor stud to the pump base.

I was going to install the double ground wire harness with the new motor. I guess I didn't know if the little raised indentations on the pump side motor cover did anything important.
