Anyone using large wireless salt spreaders?

I did not even know wireless v-box spreaders were available until I came across a listing for a Swenson PV spreader.

I like the idea of being able to change trucks quickly if there is a breakdown.

There was a post on this subject a few years ago but no one at that time had really used one.

So, has anyone used one and what are your thoughts?

My partner ran one on in his truck for several years, absolutely loved the wireless remote. However the control unit fried on us several times and was an expensive unit to replace. We also had trouble with the Swenson always over salting.

Interesting, I just like the idea of having truck #2 set up for the same plow as truck #1 and then a easy to swap spreader.

If truck #1 goes down just switch plows and drop the spreader in the back of truck #2 and away you go.

I bought a 4.5 yard Swenson Spreader last year with wireless remote. So far it works great. Benefit is that you can switch it to another truck easily. I'm worried about losing the controller (it's pretty small). I wish the buttons "lit" up when they are active. One time I think I drove from one site to another with the conveyor going. Sometimes, unless you actually get out and look, it's hard to tell if the conveyor is going. I'm thinking of wiring up a small light that I can see in my side mirror and that only comes on when the conveyor is going.

I hope it works, I just bought a 2yd stainless swenson! But got the wired controller as well, so I have the wireless as a backup or to switch rigs if the primary truck goes down.
