I not only transport local in the winter, I transport them from Idaho to North Dakota and back as needed. 804 mi. one way 12.5 hrs when the roads are good and up to 18 hrs when they are icy

Didn't like trying to stop a truck, trailer and skid steer in the snow...

Can I ask what you do that requires such a change of location on what seems like a regular basis?

Studded snow tires on the pickup and trailer with your trailer brakes set right makes a great combination for controlling stopping and starting up on icy roads.

We install manufactured homes , modular homes and office modular units. Dirt and skirt, roll on and crane onto crawl spaces and full basements. The skids are used for light excavation and boring holes for poured in place piers and snow removal

We've done it for over a decade. Works for us. That being said....The driver must know what they're doing and play it safe.

I drive log skidders down the road from job to job. Sometimes halfway across the state
