I have salt pile probably about 18 tons. In years past I have just got the bobcat out and broke it up. However it is very time consuming, looking for a faster easier way if there is one. Thanks for any advice.

uncover it and let the sun warm it up, thats what we did with ours, then used our mini excavator to break it all apart.

you can spray a liquid de icing product on it and it should help break it up. we did it last year on a load that came real chunky, and on our crap salt(frozen solid) pile and it worked like a charm. still had to break it up, but it made it a lot easier. not to mention it will leave you with a more effective salt. just my 2 cents..
