Has anybody used Amazon Home Services?

I just got an email touting: "No lead fees, no monthly subscription fees and no startup fees, you only pay for the jobs you complete."

Seems like a much better deal than Home Advisor, which annoys the hell out of me with all their phone calls. I'd say half of the Blocked list on my cell phone are HA numbers.

Anyway, anyone have any experience with Amazon?

I too am curious about the answers on this. They have hounded me for a year to sign up as a service provider. As far I know when I looked into it they had not launched it yet and wanted me on there before launch. Anyway when I looked into it they wanted a set price for a service. So you could put plow driveway for XX and that was it. There was no option to customize meaning it was a rigid price for a set service. The customer would buy the service through amazon and they would dispatch you to the job. This obviously doesn't work as each drive is a different size and a different price. Maybe they changed this I don't know.

The pricing, it looks like, did change. It looks like they have two structures now, which take different percentages of your sales.

I sent in a application, I think it's worth a look, especially since you don't need to pay for each lead that comes your way.

Ok good to know. I do like the nit paying unless you get the job. As big as Amazon is and as many people that love them it seems to be worth trying now that there are custom service options.

I still got homeadvisor, Got some nice small commercial jobs out of them. I only have one zip code. There is a leak there, The vendors that call are ridiculous. Most gave up on me I mess with them so bad. Never even heard of amazon.

I still have home advisor as well. Last year I was averaging 30 calls per storm for one time emergency plows once the storm was done. I charge a lot more for these so I make bank off them. I also add the home advisor lead cost into the bill for a convience fee. Works good for me.

Well I got a response after applying:

It's strange that when you select the field you're in, they specifically list Snow Removal Specialist in the drop down menu, under Landscaping. Maybe they'll "offer services" once winter rolls around. But, so far, it seems like a "thanks but no thanks."

I might give Home Advisor a try. Depends on the load this season.

If you do try homeadvisor just use one or two zip codes. They will charge you a fee when you join. You can't use a a bunch of zip code areas. The blow hards will send you broke on lead fees. And when you been with them for a year they try to charge you the fee again. I just don't pay. It will say on your next invoice member refused to pay. But they will not suspend your account. You can use them for your summer operations to. Homeadvisor pays off for me if you do it right.

They will call often trying to sell you more area. Don't do it. You will have to block or ignore the vendors. Theirs a leak in the system or they sell your info.
