blew my alternator last night just after i finished up plowing, I have a brand new alternator that was given to me by a buddy of mine who worked at an auto parts store

The alternator fits fine, except it has a pulley for a v belt instead of the serpentine belt that the truck has ... can the pulley be replaced or do I need to go and but a new alt.

yep pulleys will swap over without a prob, i just yanked the 2 pulley setup off my alt and put it on my delco built alt.....impact works best for trying to take the nut off if you can't fit a wrench inside the pully (where the nut is) while using the allen wrench to keep it from spinning.
