Guy at the dodge dealer told me that my '04 diesel with the 48re is an allison trans. I find it hard to believe. He also told me the '10 diesels comes with the allison trans. What do you guys think?

Did you here him correct ? The 08 chassie cabs and up use the Aisin trans. No allison contract for Dodge in any Rams ever. The Aisin is an Allison equivelent (or better) so I would say there rock solid. 200k warranty on them as well. Everyone I know with one has had excellent resultthus far.

'01-up Diesels do in fact have it, but in a GM. Sure he wasn't a GM rep? :D

I second this.. How ever id like to throw in if you go with a ford f650 and or F750 the new style ones you can get a 6.7 cummins and allison transmission.

I'm the same way, when you ask about ratio's, GAWR, GVWR, GCWR, final drive ratio's and road speed/rpms they don't have a clue. Why they don't have a truck specialist at these places is beyond me.

I just open the door or glovebox to find this information.

Never trust anyone at a dealership.

    No Allison in a Dodge.

The old fashioned salesperson who used to know their product is pretty much a thing of the past. All a truck ''salesperson'' is these days is an order taker, nothing more. Sad, but true.I will guarantee that if you ask one of these clowns what type of spark plug the Dmax runs on,you will have him try to get you your answer.
