I simply weld a 1/4" female pipe bung in them and then thread a countersunk pipe plug in. Will never leak like the two piece store bought units with the plastic washer and no backup wrench is needed to remove or install the plug.

Cost? 88 cents at the hardware store.

Realize this is a Chevy thread, and don't want to hijack it, but does anyone know of an aftermarket pan, preferably aluminum, with a drain, for a '97 F350 7.3l diesel?

Love to meet the engineers on this one. You have to pull the motor (and flip it over) to change the dam* pan! No gasket, and Ford recommends you flip it to keep residiual oil from screwing up the RTV while it sets.

    Lovely!
