    Hello,

I am in the process of swapping my western unimount snow plow onto a 2002 chevy 1500 series pick-up............I have the correct mount...........What is the difference with the 9 pin & 12 Pin harness???......I ordered the wiring but i think it is not correct for my application...

They Shipped: Plug in headlight harness 64075
    Truck side harness 8275 /vnd v24100?

    Thanks

Yes you have the incorrect plug in harness. The 64075 is for '03-up intended to be used with a 12 pin harness.

If your plow and control harness is a 9 pin, you need plug in harness 26071.

Count the terminal pins in the grill connector plug. Will be either 9 or 12. :D

Then it's a 9 pin, as it's based on how many actual terminals are in the sockets, not on how many sockets there are total.

    Thanks

    I have a 2002 Chevy 2500hd with hb3 hb4 lights. and a 9 pin western uni mount.
The western shop here sold me a 64078 wiring kit. Will this work? Or what do I need?

Nope, not with your 9 pin truck side. Thats a 12 pin plow side light kit.

What exactly do you need? A 9 pin plow side harness including the lights?

You need a 63392 Harness kit for the truck side, which includes a 61437 control harness (9 pin) and a 26071 headlight harness , all relays (6 of them) jumpers and DRL module .

And a 61540-1 plow light kit (if your plow isn't already 9 pin) Or you can replace just the wiring if your lights are in good shape and you need to go to 9 pin on the plow side , P/N 61438

On the plow side What is the differance between 9 pin ans 12? What are the 3 extra pins for?

Can I put a 12 pin harness on the plow side and use the wiring kit I they sold me??

If the plow side is 9 pin (and it's in good shape) just wire the truck for 9 pin. No big deal there.

And if you want all the truck side 9 pin numbers they are as follows...

    63392- Harness kit
    61169- Battery harness
    22511- Battery cable
    56131K- Motor relay
    61584- DRL kit

Only thing not here is a controller. Assuming you have that already.

Would he still need the 61584 on a 2002 ? The 63392 should have the DRL module and all required wiring for it ? Not ?
