94 GMC trans just quit

    So went to go do leaves got to the stop light and then just wouldn't go in any gear. Its not the linkage because it goes into park are there sylinoids? Or any thoughts?

    Is it 4wheel drive? Check the floor shifter, probably bumped it into neutral.

    I did check its not in neutral

    Put it in 1st gear and see if it goes.

    It won't go in any gear not even reverse

    I tried that too nothing......its never slipped or acted funny or anything. Has full fluid although its dark not red

    Do you know what transmission you have in the truck? 4L60 or 80? If you have access to a trans cooler line pop it off, start the car for a couple seconds and see if fluid shoots out. You might have lost a pump.

    4l60e I think I'm going to put a used one in and try to have this one rebuild

    I don't think your too far from me I can rebuild that unit for a good price. Square pan or a square pan with two corners rounded off? Square pan is a 4l60.

    Did you check your trans fuse in the fuse box.?

    Just cover all your bases. Check your fluid level, fuses too. Disconnect a tranny line at the radiator and see if you have any fluid movement shoot out of the line or cooler, I think you lost a tranny pump. How many miles on the tranny?
