I have a older 9' pro plow that grinds and squeals sometimes when raising or angling either direction. When you let off the stick and hit it again it always quits making noise. This is my first western setup and wasnt sure if it is the motor or pump? I havent taken anything off yet to look. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Is there anything on the fluid pump under the motor that would make a grinding sound?

It is a older Unimount setup.

Well either the motor or pump. Either way you have to remove the motor to Ck for play in either one

Gotcha. Is there an acceptable amount of play in either?

What I would look for (usual suspects) are:

1: grommet missing on motor shaft...allowing fluid to get into motor; and,
2: pump screen collapse and/or debris/particles on pump screen and/or bottom of housing.

Yes. But the exact numbers, or feel is escaping me at the moment
