    Hello,
I've been seriously considering an 8.2 poly Power V for my 2006 F-350 Crew Cab, Shortbed, Single Rear Wheel with the 6.0 diesel and 6000 lb. front axle. However, I went to my local dealer and he has a year old/1-storm 9.2 poly V for a real nice deal. He said he's put a bunch of 9.2s on trucks like mine without any problems. What do you guys think? Too big? Just right?

should work just fine. I have a 9.2 poly vee on my 06 ford F350 Reg cab and I was really happy with it last winter.

Good to hear it. The dealer said the 9.2s are better because when the 8.2s are in the V position, it barely covers the width of the truck. How does your F-350 handle the weight? Do you run any ballast in the back?

my 04 with a 5200 lb front axle handles my 9'2" boss fine. the newer fords with the stronger front ends will do fine with the bigger boss plows.

I just sold a 03 / f-350/6.0/ 5200 lb. fe with 8.2 and worked great. Now i just bought the same thing like yours 06 with the 6000 Front end. Im sure the 9.2 will work fine since the 6000 front ends came out that is very impressing to me.I look at it the 5200 handled the 8.2 now an extra 800 lb. front end no problem. Im going to stick with my 8.2 because i have 3 drive thus but im going to get a set of wings. Is the mount different from the 03 to an 06?

Thanks for all the input everyone! I too think that the bigger 6000 lb. front axle (and it is big too!!) can handle the extra weight. I just needed advice from someone who wasn't a dealer.

As for the mount, I don't know if there is a difference between the '03 and '06. However, the Boss site lists the mount for 1999-Present 250/350 SDs, so maybe they are.

I was so close to getting a 9.2. In fact that was part of the reason I went with a 3500. Then I got smart and realized its going to be a pain for my residentials. I'll get the wings if needed which will make my 8.2 a 10 foot plow!!

That's what I thought too. However, most driveways around me at 10' wide, plus if I was to do residential again, I won't do anything but straight-shot driveways.

the 03 and 06 plow sub frames are different. in 05 ford went with coils in the front, and the sway bar is mounted in front of the axle instead of behind it. so the mount now had to deal with all this extra crap.
