89 K2500 Hood wont open

    Hello, I have a broken hood release cable,how without cutting my hood open do I release it?

    well, it all depends on were the cable broke, did it brake under the dash.... but one way to get it open is, if you look behind you grill , you should see the cable going to your hood, make sure its the cable and not wires!!!!!!!strip some of the outer cable off, and take a pair of pliers and pull on the cable till it opens. if that doesnt work take your grill off and unbolt the hood latch from the rad support!!!!!! hope it helps

    Go plow has it nailed. Good luck getting it open. Just don't let a Ford owner see it with the hood up....

    Sometimes you have to open the hood on a GM, usually it's to jumpstart a Ford or a Dodge!

    Two things if the cable broke in the cab pair of vice grips on the wire and tug! if it broke somewhere else it mostlikly broke where it connects tothe hood release mechanism and you may have to operate!
