Last night while plowing I noticed that when signaling the voltmeter would drop in time with the signal flash. I also heard a clicking sound in the steering coulmn. Could the signal switch be shorting out. This is my first Chevy so I am not familiar with the signal/cruise/washer turn signal.

It is normal for that truck. The volt gauge will move if you turn on the wipers, turn the heater blower up to high, turn on the headlights, basically anything that draws power will cause the gauge to move. Is the clicking sound the flasher?
