Looking at purchasing a 8611lp and was wondering if it could be put on a 08 f250 superduty diesel. The door sticker says it has an 6000lbs front axle. I did find this article http://trailer-bodybuilders.com/mag/trucks_product_profiles_53/ that says the 8611lp can go on a 3/4t but have not found any supporting documents on the web otherwise.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

I know lots of guys have put them on 350's, so you might have to do a little work to the front end.

    Hey Grandview,

Looked at the Boss but the dealers just has not been that great at getting back and giving me some pricing. So far the 8611lp pricing has been very good.

    Thanks,

    Venus

By looking at the specs. of the 350SRW and 250 they both share the same front end.

out of those pictured id have to say go with the SS XtremeV. looks the best in my opinion and has a good track record. and dont know about the XLS because its only a year old. couple guys i know like their blizzards, others hate them.

Yes the website did say that but when I look at the fisher site a 9'6"XVSS is 1031# which is 52# short of the 8611lp. And that fisher is recommended for my truck. I Was thinking if I added timbren to my front suspension I could run a 8611lp upfront.

Singles, PM Mark O, I think he has a few 350's with 8611lp's.

Wow, those are cool, never seen anything like them.

XLS is actually a great plow, despite what I said about it last year. I admit, I was wrong.

Got one in my yard that has 50 pushes on it and it looks brandy new.

What's to hate about the Blizzards? Unless you need them for opening drives that are drifted, get lots of snow like in the mountains or the great white north. While they're not for everyone, for most commercial apps there is no more productive plow.

Nah, I'm a redneck, they started off as SRW's but I threw some spacers and another set of wheels on 'em.

went to scale and got truck weights

    Got the actual truck weight.

    weight on Front axle 2170kg=4784lbswesport
    weight on Rear axle 1480kg=3262lbs

Does anybody know what the distance from the plow cutting edge to the centerline of the front axle is.

    Thanks,

    Venus

Venus, The blizzards you pictured are 810's not 8611LP's. We've done LP's on the truck your asking about. You will want 450 coil springs for it.
