Is there any way gas can go from the drivers side tank to the passenger side tank with the selector switch in the drivers side position? I can hear the selector valve moving so I know the electrical function is working. Is the selector valve on top of the passenger tank with a snake pit of hoses coming out of it???? Tanks.......

Yes it can send the return fuel back to the incorrect tank if the selector valve is faulty. Doesn't happen too often but yes it can and does. And yes it's the valve located on the inboard side of the passenger frame rail, will have six hoses and one electrical connector on it. Looks scarier than it really is and is also a good time to replace as many of the old rubber hose as possible since they live a tough (but usually long) life being near the exhaust.
