I have an 84 F250 That was a Diesel and is now a 302 . It has the heavy duty brakes and axles in it. I know there is a socket I need to get to remove the axles. I dont know what the tool looks like or where to get it. Any help would be appreciated.

    Axle Nut Socket

I know that most CarQuest and NAPA stores carry most of the sizes in stock, and if not will have it for you the next day.
Just tell them all your truck information.

you want the 4 pin ford socket for the front hubs and a 9/16" or 5/8" socket to remove the spindle nuts then application of a piece of 2x4 will break the spindle free. Use a 9/16" socket to remove the rear axle retaining bolts and pull the floating shaft out by hand if you need to do the rear.
