    What are your thoughts?

Can that truck handle that blade?

My 97 F-350 had a 8.5 poly Meyer on it from '97 till last season (w/wings) when I put a V Plow on it. the truck has a 460 in it and never had a problem handling the plow in any condition.

the solid dana 60 front and leaf spring suspension can handle any light truck plow out there. i threw a set of add-a-leafs on my 96 350 for good measure, but its not really necessary.

Absolutely no problems with that combination . As was stated , the leaf spring front suspension will handle just about anything you can throw at it .

You will love the poly plow also .

    Thank you for the answers.

I had a couple fellas tell me it was to much and had me a bit worried. I feel alright now.

Nice truck BUFF, wish mine looked that good.

if my 88 F-350 can handle a 950+lb C-9 with no problems for the past 27 years, your F350 will take that light weight ploy plow without even knowing it is even on it.

    FWIW,

Poly plows weigh more than their steel counterpart , CP-9 weighs right around 980# complete depending on mount , whereas a C-9 will weigh in the neighborhood of 837 # complete.

Moldboard weights per Meyer are 367# for the C-9 and 460# for the CP-9.

Gotta love a Poly plow :D

my C-9 weighs 975 lbs. i don't know where you got that number from. hell, my C-8 is 835 lbs.

i guess they built them better 25 years ago.

Directly from the Meyer site , under "C" series then "Specifications" . And I was off , they now list the C-9 @ 867# and the CP-9 @ 960# ......

More than likely , it's got to be the "new" steel ....... LOL

Did you get that sucker running yet, Mr Leslein?

I suggested a solution to your problems, but you must not be listening. At least you aren't trolling me like Born to Snow is.

Can't you just ban this guy from the Meyer forum? He doesn't like the product so what good can he offer?

He has owned Meyer in the past, not sure if he still does. If he doesn't then he must just be trolling me!

Glad it's working for you, my follicly challenged friend. Nothing more stressful than breakdowns in a snowstorm.

PS I do own a "Meyer" spreader that has been nothing but a POS.

Oh boy I had a 4 day stretch of plowing equipment hell. But I always persevere and get it done! In the end my setup is now better then it ever has been and I am very very pleased with my outcome.
