What does the 3+3 on the older Chevy crew cabs stand for? It's been bugging me for years. I just can't figure it out, three WHAT

I'm guessing 3 people on a front bench seat and 3 people on a rear bench seat.

We had an old 3X3 and it was huge. I mean Huge, and a beast. It was a three speed and pull a house off its foundation. The shifter could come completely out of the floor and sometimes it slipped and you had to stick a tire iron down there to put the gears back in place. She was a workhorse. I cant remember what my old boss did with her. I learned to drive manual on that truck. Man the first hill I was stopped on I was a little uncomfortable not knowing if the truck was going to go into gear.

A guy I went to high school with in the mid eighties had one and it was huge. It was a cool looking truck though and made me want to have one.
