hey im new to the plowing field I have an 85 gmc 3500 drw dump truck which is only 2wd empty wheight is 7,200lbs thinking about throwing a plow on it was wondering how good it would do in the snow it will be plowing large parking lots im kinda hesitant to spend the money its got an open rear but people have said it should do as good as a srw 4x4 this correct?

well it will not preform like a 4x4 , but as long as you put weight in it, and dont try driving thru piles with the plow up, or pushing 8 inches of snow ull be fine.... just make sure you put alot of wieght 2 or 3 tons, have good rear tires, and be smart about how u plow..if its gonna be a big storm, keep on top of it, dont let it all pile up

Brickman only has 2 wheel drive duallies with open rear ends around hear and they plow ok and they usually dont have more then a ton on them. I agree elite if the job gets away from you the 2wd will be hard on you and your nerves. It will work though so go for it!!!

It will do fine in bigger lots as long as you can get a run at the snow. It will NOT be good for small areas or driveways.
    BTW.....welcome to the site.
