In shopping for a new Chevy, I see that the front suspension is now a coil over shock set up in the 1/2 ton 4X4's. Why did GM change from the torsion bar set up, and is this better or worse for light duty plowing? I see that the 3/4 tons are still a torsion bar set up.

The 1500's have been coil spring front ends for several years now... 2008 I beleive.... Ok for light duty plows, not commercial units..

I had a 8 foot Hiniker on my 2007+ crew It was a bit heavy for it, so I didn't keep it on much and certainly was not going to plow commercially. Now the 2011 2500HD does not even notice it plow is only about 725lbs complete
