2008 chevy silverado LT 1500 with 7.5 western straight blade. Pulled out all the wiring harness and the second battery and now truck won't crank over , headlights work and are bright. but it won't crank or start.
code reader say's u0100, lost communication with engine control module/power control module. Tried unhooking negative and lights on for 30 mins a nd re-hooked no luck.
Also unhooked both cables and touched together for 10 seconds, no luck, still won't crank.
Easy enough to take out harness, no splices or anything. Even put second battery back in, no luck. checked all grounds and wires a few times.
Any help, would be greatly appreciated.

The u0100 code in this case likely means that the ecm is not getting powered. No volts in is most likely, could also be low voltage in. If you have a multimeter then you may want to go to the Alldata site and buy the data for your specific vehicle. This will provide the pro level info we use at shops instead of the pitiful little Chiltons and Haynes repair manuals you see at the parts store. Should be a pretty quick fix with a good schematic. Just check for power at ecm and then since it is likely missing power follow that line on the wiring diagram toward the source.
