Help My 2500HD 4x4 switch has been an issue for ~1yrs (Only a problem between plowing driveways and driving the dried roads.). After I have been driving for some time it won't change from its current state. If I turn the dial from 2 to 4 wheel or vice versa it doesn't flash or change. I tried turning the truck off and on with success each time it would change except once when I did not wait a second or two. The switch gets very hot- I thought from the heater vent but now realize it is the switch.
I don't have service manual but I need to take switch out. Does the switch dial pull off? How to access? Is there a circuit board back there?
Anyone else have issue with new body style switch?

I just started having that issue on a 2008. Have to off/on to get it 4hi to 2w. I'm gonna ask the dealer during my next oil change sometime next week.

Plownoob-Did you notice the heat on the dial surface also? Let me know if you could what you find out.

no i didn't notice any heat, but on at least one occasion it happened when just starting her up for the day. So far, from what I can tell, it happens when I run her 4hi on somewhat dry pavement. I've put her into neutral, roll her backwards, etc. and only can get her out of 4hi after I shut the truck off/on.
